"Dr. Lance Ketchum has given the reader of Faith an important tool in identifying objective faith from the flood of subjective faiths that are leading so many to a Christless eternity. As he unloads this many facetted concept of Bible faith, the reader is challenged to worship, evangelism, and embrace a reality of a coming King. He gives his reader a dispensational look at this basic Bible teaching. This is a tool worth reading, studying, and owning.”

The vast majority of professing Christianity is preaching "another gospel, which is not another." The Apostle Paul says, "they pervert the gospel of Christ." The inclusive "gospel" of Ecumenicism and New Evangelicalism is sweeping through Christianity like a grass-fire.
Will God's children have the doctrinal foundations laid in their lives for the discernment necessary to see through this Satanic deception? Will they be able to wade through all the false teaching on "Grace" being taught by the online preachers?
Saved by Grace Alone will give people tools for the discernment they will need in today's smorgasbord of theology.

"It is a joy as well as conviction to read and study the material written by Pastor Lance T. Ketchum. I have known Pastor Ketchum personally for some time. Our church has completed three of his books of training materials in the past four years.
These studies have proven to be corner stones for spiritual growth in our church. They are written in such a fashion that anyone in the study can learn the deep truths and the joy of serving Jesus Christ. I would recommend these study materials to any person regardless of spiritual growth level. For the church, they not only train people to serve in the local church but I have found they are an excellent material for the money spent.
Many peopple visiting our ministry have wanted to purchase the material we are using. I highly recommend these study materials."

"Every person needs help in building a Bible-based home. Dr. Lance Ketchum has done us a great service by writing Parenting A Soul. Several of Dr. Ketchum's books are in my library, and I find a common denominator throughout. He is very thorough in his research and in his writing. Having done a bit of writing myself and being an avid reader, I have a keen interest in books just for the sake of books. I have discovered that many authors use "fillers" to make a book of greater length. Dr. Ketchum uses no "fillers." Parenting A Soul is filled with meaningful meat written to strengthen the relationships in our homes."

"Fundamentalists sometimes tend to be aggressive in evangelism, but weak in discipleship. People not only need to be won to Christ, but they must learn to follow Christ as well.
Pastor Ketchum has done an admirable job of putting together materials which will be an invaluable aid in grounding believers in the Word of God. It will not only be beneficial for new converts, but may also be used to strengthen others who perhaps have been saved for awhile, but have not grown.
I would hope that many pastors and churches will avail themselves of this book and use it as intended."

"I have a number of books on Soteriology in my possession. I found Lance’s book a fresh and original approach to this needful subject. He especially aimed his approach to believers in an effort to get them to perform “heart preparation” to the unbeliever by arousing his/her consciousness of sin.
One cannot be saved without repentance and one will not repent unless that individual understands the nature of his/her sin as an affront to a Holy God, and thus, liability to punishment.
Without this knowledge of sin true conversion will not occur because the absence of genuine heartfelt repentance. I also appreciated his differentiation between calling upon the Lord and confessing Him. Brother Ketchum noted, especially the importance of “understanding.” I lost count of the number of times he used the term with agreement. It was especially important in the section describing “belief.”
Quoting Ketchum on page 69 we read, “Understanding the purpose of Christ (Jehovah’s incarnation in Jesus) is the ground for understanding the Gospel and a person’s complete dependence upon the redemptive work of Christ. Show me a man who is not serious about living for Christ and I will show you a man who does not understand his redemption or the price paid to give it to him.”
Throughout the book there are gems like this. I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to be effective in presenting the gospel of Jesus Christ.

"Lance Ketchum has done it again! He has written another book that will be extremely useful for pastors, teachers, missionaries, evangelists, and all believers. In this book, he exhibits insightful exegesis of Scripture.
His pastoral warmth shines through his writing. This book will be useful to overcome modern Gnosticism, syncretism, church-skipping, and dealing with the Lukewarmite.
Each chapter builds upon the Rock, the Lord Jesus Christ, and His Word. In addition, Dr. Ketchum explains the historical and cultural influences on the church at Colosse. He explains thoroughly the heretical teachings that influenced the Colossian Church.
The questions at the end of every chapter are very helpful for guiding the student of Scripture. The questions will be extremely helpful for teachers in local churches, Bible schools, and seminaries, and for evoking thoughts for sermon preparation by pastors and evangelists.
Furthermore, this book explores the “doctrinal distinctiveness and practical distinctiveness” of the Lordship of Christ. This explanation of Colossians provides a comprehensive study of grace, the faith, salvation, saints, church, prayer, knowledge, wisdom, and spiritual understanding? It teaches sovereignty, redemption, forgiveness, the doctrine of Christ, reconciliation, and position and practice in Christ.
The reader will learn about Christian service, various warnings about man’s philosophies and traditions, angels, pragmatism, Zeitgeist, the old man, relationships, marriage, husbands and wives, children, and many other topics? All this and more is addressed in this complete and practical exegesis of the book of Colossians. This old sinner, saved by grace, hopes and prays this book will find its way into the library of every believer and church around the world.

Welcome to the study of the Book of Ruth. Great things sometimes come in small packages. Such is the case with this little book of Ruth. The time you spend in the book of Ruth may prove to be one of the greatest investments of your life. It is God’s love story to mankind. The setting for the book of Ruth is “in the days when the judges ruled.” ” (Ruth 1:1).
During this period the nation was intended to function as a Theocracy. God was to be their King and was to govern them through His Law and through various “Judges” who were raised up by Him to deliver Israel from the consequences of her rebellion against God’s Law.
It is apparent that these people did not want a heavenly King, but a king “like other nations.” The days of the Judges were, in most part, very dark days for the nation of Israel. The sin cycle continued to repeat itself with each succeeding generation. With each generation there was a gradual and progressive movement away from obedience to the Word of God and of worship in truth.
Each new generation grew weaker and weaker; becoming more and more a nation of spiritual sickness and consumption (as pictured by the two sons of Naomi, Mahlon and Chilion). Israel was very much like the Church of today. They wanted God’s blessing and provision for them, but not His authority over them, or any responsibility to Him. They wanted a distant God when it came to their unfaithful practices, but a near God when it came to their wants and needs.
We find the great contrast between all of this and what is represented by the name Elimelech in Ruth 1:1 and the last verse of the book of Judges. The name Elimelech means “God is my King.”

"Dr. Lance Ketchum has written another outstanding exegetical commentary this time on the short epistle Jude. The opening pages on the definition of 'the faith' are excellent and much needed in the climate today of theological compromise.
There is solid exegesis throughout this work. There is also practical application to the present day religious scene which makes the book even more helpful and practical.
The middle verses of Jude are dealt with very carefully. There is a rich amount of help in these pages. It is appropriate for all pastors and students to peruse his applications. Dr. Ketchum takes you carefully to other relevant passages to shed light on these verses. Solid Bible study material.
The closing section on the various spiritual building blocks in the life of the believer is helpful as well. This commentary strikes that delicate balance between theological depth and practical application. That is a difficult balance to strike but this volume does it masterfully.
Jude has always been one of my favorite epistles of the New Testament. I have many books on that small book. I am glad to add this one to my collection and use it in my preaching and teaching.
Thank you, Dr. Ketchum

Are Your Baptismal Waters Doctrinally Shallow? by Dr. Lance T. Ketchum is a MUST READ for every pastor, deacon, and should be read by every Christian.
This book will provide a fuller understanding of the Bible’s teaching on baptism, as well as explain the erroneous teachings surrounding this important biblical doctrine. I have a number of books in my library on baptism. None of them covers the scope of Dr. Ketchum’s book.
This book gives the historical perspective of baptism, especially the timely chapter eight, “The Bloody Waters of Baptismal Persecution.” Today, there is little discussion about the history of persecution accompanying biblical baptism by immersion!
The book also carefully deals with the perversions, misunderstandings, misapplications, and misinterpretations that surround this important issue. One example is a clear explanation of the Sacramental View of water baptism. However, many Bible-believing Baptist churches have a shallow understanding of baptism as well.
This book will deepen your understanding. This book is also designed in such a way that is can easily be adapted to teach in a Sunday School class. Each chapter ends with discussion questions. In fact, I plan to use this book to teach on baptism in our Bible institute.
I have been a pastor for 40 years now. I must say, that I have profited reading this book. It will be worth your while to read it.

“Dr. Ketchum has tackled one of the great themes of the Bible. As I read this book I found myself praising the Lord, awed at His grace, and on my knees in deep thankfulness.
Unsearchable Riches of Grace deals with this subject with doctrinal accuracy and yet great devotional heart and passion. Thank you, Dr. Ketchum, for this great addition to the insight of the heart of our great and gracious Heavenly Father.”

“Once again Dr. Ketchum does a very thorough job of expounding the Scriptures concerning the subject of divine grace. Each chapter takes the reader deeper into a more personal reliance on the manifold grace of God rather than on the superficial self-works of modern day Christianity.
Dr. Ketchum has done a great job combing multiple Scripture passages with practical Bible lessons that can be easily applied and taught. This book brings to light the untapped power of a Spirit-filled life, made perfect by the finished work of Christ in and through the believer. It will challenge your thinking and the way you have been taught concerning grace.
This book is a must read for all who seek more of God and more of His divine grace. Thank you, Brother Lance.”

Theology is defined as the study of the attributes, nature, character, and will of God. However, there are numerous approaches to this study. For the Bible believer, the sole source of knowledge about God is Sola Scriptura (the Bible alone).
There are many who claim to be Sola Scriptura, but who integrate philosophical arguments into their theology. Others are Pluralists and integrate pagan ideas of pagan gods and pagan writings into their theology. One of these philosophical ideas about God that was integrated into Christianity from the pagan culture was the idea called Fatalism or Predeterminism.
Although almost every Calvinist will deny it, Fatalism is very much the foundation of Calvinism’s Sovereign Grace philosophy. Augustine of Hippo (354-430 A.D.) is credited with integrating the Greek Aristotelian philosophy of Fatalism into Christian theology creating a theological Fatalism, which developed into the Sovereign Grace teachings of Calvinism.
Sovereign Grace teaching is philosophical Fatalism. Sovereign Grace teaching is not Biblical. Sovereign Grace teaching is what poisons the TULIP. Sovereign Grace teaching greatly distorts the attributes, nature, character, and will of God.

Is revival some ambiguous expectation of a fanatical Christianity? Has Deism so engulfed Christianity that we no longer expect or anticipate God's supernatural involvement with His Church and with His children? God's Word is clear on this matter.
Every truly "born again" believer, indwell by the Holy Spirit of God, can expect the supernatural empowering of God in his life and expect to experience the overflow of the Spirit as part of his normal, everyday Christianity.

One cannot be a student of Biblical prophecy without a heaviness over his soul due to knowledge of the future events looming on the horizon of history. This is the truth we find in the first few verses of the book of Habakkuk as revealed by the word "burden."
I believe in the imminent return of Jesus Christ. This means the second coming of Jesus Christ can take place at any moment. If we accept the immanency of Christ's second coming we must accept the fact that this event will immediately begin the seven years called the "tribulation" in the Bible.
During those seven years God will progressively withdraw His hand of protection from this earth allowing the Destroyer's forces of evil to be instruments of His wrath to turn the world from the pathway of sin and apostasy to repentance.

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
There are no words in the Bible more solemn and sobering then the words of Romans 3:23. They grasp the heart of a fallen creation with a death grip. These are the Words of God as He reaches out of eternity to arrest our souls. They are the judicial words of a heavenly Judge sentencing His fallen creation to everlasting condemnation. What do these words mean? They mean that at man’s best, he comes far short of deserving God’s eternal blessings.
At man’s worst, he will involve himself in practices that even an animal would never do. This is evident in Romans 1:21-32. This details the degeneracy of the human creation when it rejects the will of God and determines to live by its own determinations of right and wrong. It is a disgusting portrait that God paints of mankind in these few verses. When God calls His “born again” children to holiness (separation from sin and worldly selfishness and separation unto God in priestly, sanctified ministry), He expects us to strive to manifest His glory in our lives (be “light”).
